Basketry

While hiking on a blanket of pine needles in Mammoth (late 2022) I remembered that I had learned to make a pine needle basket in the late 1970’s. I made a second one (2022/2023), then recalled that I had also learned how to make a coil basket with yarn. I tried this again and it led to a lot of experimentation. Just three months after I started, I was invited to teach a basketry workshop at LiLA Creative Community in Arroyo Grande, Fiber Therapy: Intuitive Basketry. Now I’m teaching classes at Small Space Art Collective in San Clemente.
