Power Wands
Expirimentation propels me to explore three-dimensional fiber forms. These works are inspired by my hoops, fiber collages, and the Power Sticks I made with students and friends that involved wrapping yarn, string, ribbon, and wire to attach natural and human made found objects to bamboo poles (2’ - 10’).
They reference holders of power made various cultures for various purposes. Voodoo dolls, smudge sticks, forms that hold wishes, hopes, and dreams. At this time of tumolt in our world, I ground myself by pouring my thoughts and feelings into these “vessels”.
